Slit Lamp
This is a powerful illuminated microscope, which is used to check the outer surface of your eye for any abnormalities or scratches. You will be asked to place your chin on a holder in front of the slit lamp, and the eye healthcare professional will sit opposite you and look through a microscope. During this test you will see bright lights, but they are not bright enough to cause any damage to your eye. You may also see colour spots for a few minutes after this test, but these should fade.
