What has your fundraising achieved so far?
Since 1986, thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, we’ve invested over £18 million into pioneering sight research. These vital funds have helped drive breakthroughs in understanding and treating sight loss. But we’re not stopping there, we have bold ambitions to do even more, and your continued support is key to shaping a clearer future for everyone affected.
Why we fundraise together:
We know that our vision to ensure clearer futures for those living with sight loss is not an easy one. But every act, no matter how big or small, has a resounding impact. And together, your actions to support sight research can become movements for real and life-altering change.
Here are some powerful statistics to highlight the importance of eye research:
- Every 6 minutes a person in the UK is told they will lose their sight.
- By 2030, 2.7 million people will be living with vision loss in the UK.
- Ophthalmology is already the biggest NHS outpatient speciality in the country, with eye treatments making up 10% of all appointments.
