Dr Beth Mills
UKRI Future Leader Fellow
The University of Edinburgh
Dr Beth Mills is working to change the future for people at risk of losing their sight from devastating eye infections. Her research focuses on understanding and treating conditions like fungal keratitis, which can lead to blindness if not caught early. By combining scientific discovery with practical solutions for real-world healthcare, she is helping to bring hope to communities around the world where access to sight-saving treatment is limited.

Professor Annegret Dahlmann-Noor
Professor of Paediatric Ophthalmology
University College London
Professor Annegret Dahlmann-Noor is dedicated to protecting and improving vision, especially for children. As a leading eye specialist at Moorfields Eye Hospital, she cares for young patients while driving forward research into conditions like short-sightedness and “lazy eye.” Passionate about making eye care more accessible and effective, she works to ensure that more people, whatever their age or background, can benefit from earlier diagnosis, better treatments, and brighter futures.
