Georgina is one of our Big Half runners who is running to raise money for sight-saving research this September.
Georgina’s story:
“I’m running for Sight Research because of my role at Newmedica, where I get to see just how much of a difference eye surgery can make to people’s lives. It’s something that’s really stayed with me and made me want to get involved beyond work. This feels like a good way to give something back and support the kind of research that helps change lives.”
“I enjoy hiking on weekends with my boyfriend and exploring new places, and I’m always looking forward to my next holiday. I love reading, spending time with friends and family, and I also enjoy watching my local football team. Recently, I’ve been trying to improve my cooking skills too which is still a work in progress!”
Every 6 minutes a person in the UK will be told they will lose their sight. That's 0 lives changed today so far.Another in 6m 00sWhat’s your running experience?
“I only started running last year and have mainly stuck to 5Ks, so this feels like a big step up for me. It’s pushing me out of my comfort zone, and something I’ve never tried before, which is exciting but also a bit nerve-wracking!”
Why The Big Half?
“I wanted to set myself a challenge and the Big Half felt like the right one to go for. It also takes place on 6th September, which will be 13 years since I lost my dad, so it felt like a meaningful day to do something positive and push myself.”
