Creating an online fundraising page is quick and easy, and a great way to share your story and raise money for sight-saving research. Every donation helps support pioneering research that aims to prevent sight loss, treat eye disease, and improve the lives of people affected by vision impairment.
Even better, you can choose to set up an individual fundraising page or create a team fundraising page so you can raise funds together with friends, family, or colleagues. Whether you’re taking part in a challenge event, holding a community fundraiser, or fundraising in memory of a loved one, an online fundraising page makes it easy for people to support you and track your progress.
How to set up your JustGiving page:
- Go to: https://justgiving.com/charity/SRUK
- Click on Start Fundraising
- Sign in using your existing JustGiving account, or create a new one. You can also sign in using your social media accounts.
- Follow the setup steps to create your page
- Personalise your page. Add a photo, share your story, and why you’re supporting Sight Research UK
- Collecting in Memory? Let us know who your collecting for and why Sight Research UK was important to them.
- Share your page link with friends, family, and colleagues to start raising funds!
The more personal your page is, the more likely people are to connect with your story and support your fundraising. Consider posting updates throughout your challenge or event, celebrating milestones, and thanking your supporters. Regular updates can help keep momentum going and encourage additional donations.
You can also boost your fundraising by sharing your page on social media, in community groups, via email, or through workplace networks. Don’t be afraid to remind people about your fundraiser. All donations made through JustGiving come directly to us, so you don’t need to collect or transfer any money yourself.
Cash or Cheque donations?
If someone gives you a donation in cash or by cheque, you can still include it in your fundraising total by adding it as an offline donation on your JustGiving page. This helps keep your overall total up to date and shows the full impact of your fundraising.
Offline donations need to be paid directly to Sight Research UK.

Using a different fundraising platform?
Some challenge events, such as The Big Half, will require you to use a different fundraising platform. Please contact us before setting up your page to make sure we’re registered on that platform.
